OLIVET, Mich. Jim Chapin, an Army chaplain and 1976 Olivet College graduate, will speak about his military service in Iraq Thursday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the colleges Mott Auditorium.

Chapins most recent mission was to An Najaf, Iraq and the surrounding region. In addition to his duties as a chaplain ministering to the needs of soldiers on patrol, he was designated as the battalions officer in charge of an adopt-a-school project.

The project involved traveling to local schools to assess building infrastructure needs and determine the type of needed school supplies. Chapin will discuss the programs success in reaching more than 1,000 students in eight schools ranging from primary through high school.
