OLIVET, Mich. Pam Rutyna has been named college relations specialist at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Jerry Rashid, assistant vice president for college relations.

She is responsible for preparing and distributing news releases, writing feature stories for the colleges alumni magazine and assisting with the writing, editing and design of a variety of communications material.

Rutyna previously worked as the editor for Thisweek Rosemount newspaper in Rosemount, Minn., where she wrote, edited and designed the newspaper. Her background also includes working for more than five years as a communications specialist with International Dairy Queen, Inc., in Edina, Minn.

A native of Bloomington, Minn., Rutyna earned a bachelor of science degree from North Dakota State University in 1997.
