Olivet College and community partner for annual “Night on the Town”
Aug 07, 2006

OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College students will have the opportunity to learn more about the services and products offered in the city of Olivet during the fourth annual Night on the Town, Monday, Aug. 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. in downtown Olivet. The event, which is open to the public, is sponsored by Olivet College and the Olivet Community Chamber of Commerce.

Chartwells, the colleges food service provider, will serve a picnic-style dinner downtown. The cost for the dinner is $6 for adults, $3 for children 4- to 12-year-old, and free for children 3 and under. Olivet students eat for free when they show their college IDs.

More than 30 businesses are expected to participate with coupon giveaways, free samples and prize drawings. The event will also feature live music.

Night on the Town is being held in conjunction with the colleges Welcome Week. The 2006 fall semester begins Tuesday, Aug. 22. Additional Welcome Week activities include the Presidents Opening Convocation on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium and Stand-Up at 5 p.m. in the College Square.

For more information, contact Jason Meadows, director of student activities, at (269) 749-7172, or Becky Ramage, chamber president, at (269) 749-2311.
