New student media leaders named at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College Media Board has recently named two new leaders of student media for the 2007-08 academic year. Nicole Babcock, a junior from Three Rivers, has been named the editor of The Echo, Olivets student newspaper. Babcock has been a reporter with the paper since her freshman year, and is also the recipient of the Michigan Press Associations High School Match Intern Program. She spent two summers at the Three Rivers Commercial News as an intern. Babcock is also a member of the womens soccer team. John Shull, a sophomore from Hazel Park, has been named student manager of WOCR, the student radio station, 89.7 FM. Shull has worked at the station for two years as a disc jockey and production manager. He and Babcock are both majoring in journalism and mass communication. Each year, the media board, representing all campus student media, invites students to apply for leadership positions in student media.
