OLIVET, Mich. Paint, people and plastic bags are ready as Olivet College gears up for its first spring All-Campus Service Day on Wednesday, March 19.
Olivet College students, faculty, staff and friends will volunteer on campus and in surrounding communities as part of Service Day activities. Projects include yard work, cleaning the Olivet Congregational Church, a trash pick-up on Kedron Creek and volunteering at the VFW Childrens Home in Eaton Rapids. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to volunteer. Service Day allows Olivet College to maintain our dedication to the divine art and science of doing good to others, said President Don Tuski. Some of Olivets best student organizations, societies and classes participate in activities. Whether its getting their hands dirty to help make our community a better place to live or working to brighten a childs day, its important that our students understand the importance of volunteerism.
Though the college has held four fall Service Days, this is the first spring event.
