Aug 21, 2007

The Olivet College theatre program will hold auditions for the play “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 28 and 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Oaks Theatre in downtown Olivet. Auditions are open to students ages 10 to 15 years old.

Children will be auditioning for the parts of Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, Unicorn, Centaur, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Tumnus, Fenris Ulf, Dwarf, Elf and the White Stag.

The story was written by C.S. Lewis and follows the adventures of four siblings, who have slipped through the wardrobe door and into the land of Narnia, which is home to magical fauns, dwarfs, talking beasts, centaurs and the evil White Witch.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Oaks Theatre. The play is being directed by Emma Henson, a junior from Shelby Township, and is sponsored by Alpha Psi Omega, the college’s theatre student society.
