Olivet College to celebrate Homecoming Oct. 20

Olivet College will celebrate its 2007 Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 20 with the theme “Remembering Our Past, Building Our Future.” From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., during the “Red and White” luncheon, the college will honor Grand Marshals Dan and Emily Byrens, former music professors; the 1844 Award recipient, Jim Coleman, founder of the student literary magazine, The Garfield Lake Review; the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, Ruth Thomas ‘38 and Al Swain ‘78; and Young Alumni Award honoree Shawn Dowling ‘00. The lunch is $15 per person. The Homecoming procession will begin at 1:15 p.m. The Constantine High School Marching Band will lead the procession from the College Square to the college’s Cutler Athletic Complex. At 2 p.m., the Comet football team takes on Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Tri-State University at the Cutler Athletic Complex.
