Olivet College to present "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

The Olivet College theatre program will present “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Oct. 18, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Oaks Theatre in downtown Olivet. The play is free and open to the public. The story is dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C.S. Lewis and follows the adventures of four siblings, who have slipped through the wardrobe door and into the land of Narnia, which is home to magical fauns, dwarfs, talking beasts, centaurs and the evil White Witch. The cast includes the following Olivet students: T. Cody Giles, a sophomore from Gobles; John Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Mark Gouba, a freshman from Novi; Abbey Hammond, a junior from Olivet; Kimberly Lochinski, a junior from Freeport; Ted Pick, a junior from Mackinaw City; Rachel Tunison, a senior from Erie; Ashley Wemple, a senior from Tustin; and Andrew Williams, a senior from Fenton. The rest of the cast is comprised of children, ages 10 to 15 years old from nearby communities. The play is being directed by Emma Henson, a junior from Shelby Township, and is sponsored by Alpha Psi Omega, the college’s theatre student society. Technical director is Anna Montalvo, a senior from Detroit, and the costumer is Anna Lorena EldenBrady, a teacher certificate student from Okemos. Following its run at the Oaks Theatre, the show will travel to two area schools, St. Peter’s of Eaton Rapids and St. Mary’s of Charlotte.
