Mathie named to Olivet College Board of Trustees

Jeff Mathie, president of Patriot Antenna Systems of Albion, has been elected to the Olivet College Board of Trustees, according to an announcement by Board Chair David Hayhow. He will serve a four-year term.

He is a 1988 graduate of the college and resident of Olivet.

Mathie has grown Patriot through the design and development of antenna systems, including military auto deploy and Earth station antennas, and NASA’s Deep Space Radio telescopes. Patriot Antenna Systems has been honored as one of the “50 Fastest Growing Companies in Michigan” in 2005 and as one of Inc. magazines “Top 5,000 Companies in the United States” in October.

Mathie has started eight companies in all, including one that produces UAV helicopter systems for surveillance and disaster recovery. He also invests in residential and commercial properties with Galaxy Properties of Marshall.

The Olivet College Board of Trustees pursues policies and programs in accord with the college’s academic vision of Education for Individual and Social Responsibility. The board strives to provide the best possible environment for students, faculty and staff to teach, learn and develop their abilities.
