Olivet College to host holiday choral concert Dec. 2

Olivet College will present its annual Holiday Choral Concert Sunday, December 2 at 3 p.m. in the Olivet Congregational Church. The concert is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., assistant professor of music and music program director, and accompanied by Ramona Kime, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, the concert will feature the Olivet College Mens Ensemble, Consortium Musicum and the College Choir with student and alumni guest soloists. The college choir, accompanied by a professional string ensemble, will perform excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah” and Vivaldi’s “Gloria.” Soloists will include alumni singers such as: Angela Boardman, from DeWitt; Tina Bunce, from Bowling Green; Timothy LaVasseur, from Augusta; and Michael Northrop, from Three Rivers. Student soloists include: Alaina Beam, a senior from Charlotte; John Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Kayla Green, a freshman from Mason; and Marla Strickler, a sophomore from Union. The Olivet College Wind Ensemble will also perform selections of festive music for the holiday season. For more information please call 269-749-7660.
