Olivet College unveils grant for local students
Dec 17, 2007

Olivet College announces a Community Connection Grant program available to any new freshman, transfer or non-traditional commuter student not currently enrolled at Olivet College. These students must have graduated from or currently reside in Bellevue, Charlotte, Marshall or Olivet. The grant, which totals $9,290 a year for each student, is given before state and federal aid. The program is effective beginning with the 2008 spring semester.

With this grant, students will pay between $1,734 to $9,944 a year for tuition at Olivet College, depending on how much federal and state aid they receive.

College administrators created this grant to provide affordable educational opportunities for students and continue the college’s vision statement of “Education for Individual and Social Responsibility.”

“Olivet continues to be a leader among private schools in Michigan in making private education affordable,” said Larry Vallar, vice president for Enrollment Management. “The college recognizes the challenges of Michigans economy, which requires us to be more responsible in keeping tuition within reach for Michigan families.”

For more information on the Olivet College Community Connection Grant, contact the Office of Enrollment Management at (269) 749-7163 or e-mail mcasarez@olivetcollege.edu. To apply to the college, visit www.olivetcollege.edu.
