Olivet College faculty and staff receive service awards

Olivet College President Donald Tuski, Ph.D., recently honored 27 employees with service awards. Marja Hendrick, of Olivet, technical services librarian, was honored for 30 years of service. Lori Britton, of Charlotte, associate registrar for research, was honored for 25 years of service. Employees honored for 15 years of service include Mark DeRuiter, of Battle Creek, vice president and chief financial officer; Judy Fales, of Olivet, administrative assistant for faculty and switchboard operator; Michael Fales, of Olivet, director of church relations and campus ministries; Deb Gingrich, of Charlotte, medical secretary; Fred Heisler, of Olivet, maintenance tradesperson; Michael Hubbel, of Grand Rapids, insurance program director and professor of insurance and risk management; and Nancy Van Hoozier, of Lansing, associate professor of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport. Those honored for 10 years of service include Michael Hebenstreit, of Olivet, maintenance tradesperson; Elaine Hoeltzel, of Marshall, library circulation supervisor; Linda Logan, Ph.D., of Olivet, vice president and dean for student life; Ponja Vahs, of Bellevue, administrative assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement; Lisa Webb, of Bellevue, financial aid specialist; and Arthur Williams, Ph.D., of Olivet, theatre program director and associate professor of theatre. Recipients of the five-year service awards include Heather Bateman, of East Lansing, associate athletic director and head women’s basketball coach; Walker Beverly, of Lansing, assistant professor of education; Melissa Casarez, of Lowell, admissions representative; Brenda Eubank, of Battle Creek, senior student accounts specialist; Tim Flynn, Ph.D., of Okemos, music program director and assistant professor of music; Sandra Harmon, of Olivet, housekeeper; Geoff Henson, of Charlotte, sports information director; Marty Jennings, of Olivet, director of alumni relations; Bill Maas, of Olivet, academic counselor and head womens golf coach; Marty Pierson, of Battle Creek, maintenance tradesperson; Becky Roberts, of Bellevue, mailroom supervisor; and Shannon Tiernan, of Marshall, director of foundation relations and special events.
