Olivet College to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day Jan. 23
Jan 11, 2008

George F. Francis III, former senior vice president and chief administrative officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, will speak at the Olivet Congregational Church Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. His speech is titled “Moving from the Dream to Personal Responsibility.”

Francis, a member of Olivet College’s Board of Trustees, has long been a supporter of causes related to civil rights and diversity. He is a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

“My interest in these areas has given me a life long perspective on people of all races relating to one another in a more positive way,” he said. “The key is accepting social responsibility, and as individuals, behaving responsibly.”
