Olivet College to host the Human Race Machine during Black History Month
Feb 07, 2008
Olivet College, in collaboration with the Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, will be hosting the Human Race Machine from Monday, Feb. 11 until Friday, Feb. 15, as part of its celebration of Black History Month. The machine will be located in the Oaks Dining Room, located in the Kirk Center on Olivet’s campus. It will be available from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. that week or by appointment. The machine is free to use and open to the public. The Human Race Machine gives viewers an opportunity to see what they would look like as a different race. As the viewer sits in the machine, a camera captures his or her image, and morphs it as dictated by the viewer. While at Olivet, viewers will have two options when using the machine. They can either sit in the booth or view their images, or they can watch a video discussing the illusions of race and the Human Race Machine, and then look at the images. « Back
