Olivet College Women’s Resource Center to host Native American singer

The Olivet College Betsy Dole Women’s Resource Center will host Red Feather Woman, a Native American singer and songwriter, Monday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Margaret Upton Conservatory Recital Hall. Red Feather Woman, born Rose Red Elk, is the 2006 Native American Music Award winner for spoken word and two-time nominee for the Indian Summer Music Award. Her latest effort titled, “Distant Drums,” moves musically between folk and rock and includes two ancient stories. Red Elk was born on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana and is an enrolled member of the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. « Back
