Olivet College to host choral concert Feb. 24

The Olivet College music program will present a choral concert featuring selections from Broadway and operetta, Sunday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. in the Olivet Congregational Church. The concert is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., music program director and assistant professor of music, the choral ensembles will perform selections from Wicked, Miss Saigon and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as music by Stephen Sondheim. Featured soloists include: Bill Henson, tenor; and Jeremy Adams, a junior from Novi; Jesse Barber, a sophomore from Vandalia; Alaina Beam, a senior from Charlotte; John Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Mark Gouba, a freshman from Novi; Kayla Green, a freshman from Mason; and Marla Strickler, a sophomore from Constantine. In addition, the mens ensemble will perform a selection of folk songs and spirituals. The concert also features Concentus Musicus, the colleges new male quartet.
