Olivet College to host Low Brass Day March 29

The Trombone Studio at Olivet College will hold a Low Brass Day for interested high school students Saturday, March 29 from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The day ends with a low-brass choir concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will feature a recital by Bryan Pokorney, D.M.A., bass trombonist with the Midland, Westshore, Lansing and Battle Creek symphonies, featuring Dan Spencer, instructor of trombone at Olivet; and multiple master classes with Pokorney. Recital pieces for the choir will be chosen from works by Brahms, Gabrieli, Grieg, Nelhybel, Wagner and others.
