Cheating expert to speak at Olivet College
Mar 26, 2008
David Callahan, author of The Cheating Culture: Why More Americans are Doing Wrong to Get Ahead, will speak as part of Olivet Colleges Lecture and Symposium Series Wednesday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium. Callahan will use real-world examples to speak about cheating, offering details for how it happens and why it matters. This event is free and open to the public. According to Callahan, rampant cheating in American society is symptomatic of a profound moral crisis that reflects deep economic and social problems. A harsh dog-eat-dog market and soaring income gaps have corroded our values, he argues, and threatens to corrupt the equal opportunity Americans cherish. Callahans articles have appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, the Washington Post and USA Today. He earned a doctorate in politics from Princeton University.
