Olivet College to host Educators’ Day June 19

Olivet Colleges Education Department and Office of Alumni Relations will hold an Educators Day Thursday, June 19. The event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Mott Academic Center, will include four courses pertaining to the following topics: insects; stress management; biodiversity and the decline of the species; and chemistry. All kindergarten through 12th grade educators are encouraged to attend. The one-day program may be counted toward a one-hour college credit, which requires attendance in each session, plus a paper on the subject matter. Cost is $280 for college credit or $40 without credit. The instructors leading the sessions include four Olivet College faculty members: Maria Davis, Ph.D., is the Natural and Physical Sciences Department chair at Olivet and a professor of biology; Todd Hibbs is an assistant professor of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport and the head wrestling coach; Leah Knapp, D.V.M., is a professor of biology; and Susanne Lewis, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of chemistry and chemistry program director.
