After extensive evaluation, Olivet College recently received a 10-year reaccreditation from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The college has been continually accredited by the NCA since 1961.

To receive continued accreditation, Olivet College was evaluated and met the commissions criteria for:

Mission and Integrity The college operates with integrity to ensure the fulfillment of its mission through structures and processes that involve the board, faculty, staff and students.

Preparing for the Future The colleges allocation of resources and its process for evaluation and planning demonstrate its capacity to fulfill its mission, improve the quality of its education and respond to future challenges and opportunities.

Student Learning and Effective Teaching The college provides evidence of student learning and teaching effectiveness that demonstrates it is fulfilling its educational mission.

Acquisition, Discovery and Application of Knowledge The college promotes a life of learning for its faculty, administration, staff and students by fostering and supporting inquiry, creativity, practice and social responsibility in ways consistent with its mission.

Engagement and Service As called for by its mission, the college identifies and serves its constituencies.

The HLC is an independent corporation and one of two commission members of the NCA, which was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The HLC accredits, and thereby grants membership in the commission and in the NCA, to degree-granting educational institutions in the North Central region: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Wyoming.
