Olivet College to present “Godspell” Nov. 14-16

Olivet College will present the musical Godspell Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. in the Oaks Theatre in downtown Olivet. The production is free and open to the public. Godspell, by Stephen Schwartz, is a popular off-Broadway musical based on the gospel according to St. Matthew. It recounts the parables and events depicted in the gospel with 1970s rock and jazz musical styles. Cast members for the production include: Jeremy Adams, a junior from Novi; Alaina Beam, a senior from Charlotte; John Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Mark Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Kayla Green, a sophomore from Mason; Emma Henson, a senior from Shelby Township; Emily Pieri, a freshman from Cedarville; and Amanda Roy, a junior from Howell. Charity West, a senior from Olivet, James Kruth, adjunct instructor of computer science, and Ramona Kime, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, will accompany the cast members. In addition, the musical will feature a dance company from Battle Creek, led by Deborah Ricker.
