Olivet College music students to perform in 2009 Intercollegiate Honor Band

Eight Olivet College instrumental music students will perform in the Intercollegiate Honor Band at the Fine Arts Center Auditorium on the Calvin College campus, Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The band is comprised of students nominated by conductors from Adrian, Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hillsdale, Hope and Olivet colleges, as well as Cornerstone, Grand Valley State and Spring Arbor universities. Gary Hill, professor of music and director of bands at Arizona State University, will serve as guest conductor. Olivet students include: Nicholas Adsit, a freshman from Muskegon, horn; Zac Coddaire, a freshman from Lake Odessa, trumpet; Matt Meeuwse, a senior from Owosso, trumpet; Emily Pieri, a freshman from Cedarville, oboe; Seth Story, a senior from Ithaca, trombone; and alternates Matthew Marquette, a freshman from Kalamazoo, trumpet; LuAnn Pickford, a freshman from Sherwood, alto saxophone; and Aaron Wood, a senior from Bellevue, trombone. Jeananne Nichols, D.M.A., Olivets director of instrumental studies and assistant professor of music, nominated the students, who were then selected by a committee to participate in the band. « Back
