Olivet College announces highest spring enrollment in school history
Feb 03, 2009

With 1,037 students, Olivet Colleges spring enrollment is the highest in school history, according to an announcement by Larry Vallar, vice president for enrollment management.

The admissions team continues to excel at attracting quality students to Olivet, said Vallar. To achieve yet another milestone in these difficult times speaks volumes about Olivet Colleges commitment to student retention and enrollment.

Olivets student body continues to increase substantially, thanks to improved facilities, programs, and recruiting and retention efforts. During the past year, the college has constructed or renovated several buildings on campus, including The Cutler Event Center, Ruth Rawlings Mott Auditorium, Gillette Student Village, Dr. Paul H. and Ruth B. Engle Chemistry Laboratory, Frederick S. Upton Center Natatorium, Mott Academic Center classrooms, and a track and visitors stands at the Cutler Athletic Complex. In addition, faculty members are currently reviewing academic departments and developing new majors to meet students changing needs. Recruiting efforts have improved as well, thanks in part to the Olivet College Community Connection Grant, which significantly reduces the cost of tuition for area students. The college is also implementing new retention strategies and recently named Ronda Miller as director of student retention.
