Olivet College insurance program tied for most NAPSLO interns
May 01, 2009
The Risk Management and Insurance Center (RMIC) at Olivet College is currently tied with the University of Georgia for the most interns in the competitive National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO) internship program, according to the NAPSLO Annual Report 2007-08. We are honored that so many of our students are selected for this highly competitive internship program, said Mike Hubbel, director of the RMIC. Industry involvement is a priority of the RMIC, and the NAPSLO program provides students with an immeasurable level of experience in various markets. Olivets RMIC students are required to complete a three-credit internship before graduation, yet most complete at least one per summer. The internship experience, along with classroom activities and membership in Gamma Iota Sigma, the colleges top-ranked chapter of the professional risk management, insurance and actuarial science society, allows for nearly 100 percent of RMIC students to receive jobs before graduation.
