Olivet College to present "Twelfth Night" Nov. 5-8

The Olivet College Performing Arts Department will present Shakespeares Twelfth Night Thursday, Nov. 5 through Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Oaks Theatre in downtown Olivet. The production is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but please note, late-comers cannot be seated. In this romantic comedy reworked to take place in the 1970s, a pair of shipwrecked twins, each thinking the other is dead, make their way to Illyria a place filled with zany characters, disguise, music, brawls, outrageous dancing and beautiful poetry. It is a world in which the lines of the power of love and the love of power are often blurred. Cast members for the production include: Jeremy Adams, a senior from Novi; Kellie Carden, a junior from Lansing; Christine Chaney, a sophomore from Battle Creek; Zachary Coddaire, a sophomore from Lake Odessa; John Gouba, a senior from Novi; Mark Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; Kayla Green, a junior from Mason; Matt McNeil, a senior from West Bloomfield; A.J. Pennock, a junior from Battle Creek; Emily Pieri, a sophomore from Cedarville; Valerie Robinson, a sophomore from Ashley; Riana Rowles, a sophomore from South Haven; Marla Strickler, a junior from Union; and Tyler VanSyckle, a freshman from Ionia. Community members featured in the production are: Jenna Atma, of Bellevue; Erica Lane, of Springport; Eric Witzke, a 1971 alumnus, of Olivet; and Rich Witzke, of Olivet. The production crew includes: light designer Jeremy Adams; stage manager Amanda Roy, a senior from Howell; costume designer Gayland Spaulding, of Marshall; and set designer Eric Witzke.
