Olivet College to host holiday choral concert Nov. 22

The Olivet College Performing Arts Department and Music Program will present its annual holiday choral concert, Rejoice! Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. in the Olivet Congregational Church. The event is free and open to the public. The concert will feature traditional holiday favorites, including Antonio Vivaldis Gloria, performed by the Olivet College Chamber Singers, and excerpts from G.F. Handels Messiah, performed by the College Choir and featuring student and alumni soloists. Both works will be accompanied by a professional string ensemble and harpsichord. Also performing are the Olivet College Mens Ensemble and Womens Chorale, all accompanied by Ramona Kime, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, and under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., Performing Arts Department chair and assistant professor of music. Student soloists for the production include: Jeremy Adams, a senior from Novi; Kellie Carden, a junior from Lansing; John Gouba, a senior from Novi; Mark Gouba, a sophomore from Novi; and Kayla Green, a junior from Mason.
