Olivet College President Don Tuski, Ph.D., recently honored 19 employees with service awards.

Dorothy Bigford, of Charlotte, administrative assistant for faculty, was honored for 40 years of service to the college, while John Homer, Ph.D., of Olivet, Business Administration Department chair and professor of economics, was honored for 30 years.

Employees honored for 20 years of service include Ray Bigford, of Charlotte, housekeeper; Susan Houston, of Marshall, professor of business; and Barb Smith, of Olivet, painter.

Those honored for 15 years of service include Maria Davis, Ph.D., of Charlotte, Natural and Physical Sciences Department chair and professor of biology; Becky Roberts, of Bellevue, mailroom supervisor; and Therese Wood, of Bellevue, director of human resources.

Employees honored for 10 years of service include Pam Frayer, of Bellevue, development information specialist; Kirk Hendershott-Kraetzer, Ph.D., of Jackson, Humanities Department chair and associate professor of humanities; Myrna Pedelty, of Olivet, administrative assistant for the Student Resources Center; Martha Perkins, Ph.D., of Marshall, associate professor of humanities; and Charles Wilson, of Lansing, associate dean for academic affairs and associate professor of education.

Recipients of the 5-year service award include Ed Heator, of Union City, development officer; Brian Heisler, of Olivet, maintenance tradesperson; Nick Juday, of Kalamazoo, HPERS Department chair and assistant professor of HPERS; Susanne Lewis, Ph.D., of Charlotte, chemistry program director and assistant professor of chemistry; Chauncey McDaniel, of Lansing, maintenance tradesperson; John Miller-Purrenhage, Ph.D., of Lansing, assistant professor of English; Jeananne Nichols, D.M.A., of Holt, director of instrumental studies and assistant professor of music; and Jake Schuler, of Olivet, assistant dean for student life, Blair Hall director and director of intramural sports.
