Olivet College to present "Early Music Olivet"

The Olivet College Music Program will present a concert titled Early Music Olivet, Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. in the Upton Conservatory Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., Performing Arts Department chair, music program director and assistant professor of music, the concert will feature music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods performed by student, faculty and guest artists. Music by Palestrina, Lasso, Hassler, Bach, Purcell, and Monteverdi will be featured on the program. Performing will be the Olivet College Chamber Singers; Flynn and Ramona Kime, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, harpsichord; Jeananne Nichols, D.M.A., assistant professor of music and director of instrumental studies, flute; and soloists Kellie Carden, a senior from Lansing, soprano; Mark Gouba, a junior from Novi, tenor; and Kayla Green, a junior from Mason, mezzo-soprano.
