Olivet College and community partnering for annual "Night on the Town"
Aug 27, 2010

Olivet College students will have the opportunity to learn more about the services and products offered in the city of Olivet during the eighth annual Night on the Town, Monday, Aug. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. in downtown Olivet. The event, which is open to the public, is co-sponsored by Olivet College and the Olivet Community Chamber of Commerce.

Chartwells, the colleges food service provider, will serve a picnic-style dinner downtown. The cost for the dinner is $6 for adults, $4 for children 4- to 12-years-old, and free for children 3 and under. Olivet students eat for free when they show their college IDs.

Olivets downtown businesses will be participating with coupon giveaways, free samples and prize drawings. The event will also feature live music, a ticket raffle, games, airbrush tattoos and caricature artist Dennis Preston.

Night on the Town is being held in conjunction with the colleges Welcome Week. The 2010 fall semester begins Tuesday, Aug. 31. Additional Welcome Week activities include the Presidents Opening Convocation Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium and Stand-Up at 5 p.m. at The Cutler Event Center.
