Olivet College’s Frayer receives entrepreneurial award
Jan 12, 2011
Pam Frayer, development information specialist at Olivet College, has received the Esther Schweikert Masters Entrepreneurial Endowment Award, according to an announcement by Todd Hibbs, vice president for institutional advancement. Established by 1962 alumnus Geoff Masters in honor of his late mother, the award is presented annually to an individual in the Olivet College community who has exemplified the entrepreneurial spirit. Frayer, who received a $1,000 prize as part of the award, successfully guided the college’s Phon-a-thon program to an in-house process. Once operated by an outside vendor, the Phon-a-thon, which supports the college’s Annual Fund, is now handled entirely through the Office of Institutional Advancement. In addition, calls are now being made all year rather than four weeks out of the year. Bringing the process in-house, though complex to initiate, has saved the college literally thousands of dollars, Hibbs said. This means 100 percent of the money pledged to Olivet will be used to advance the college, not pay an outside company. Pam has done an exceptional job of reorganizing the process and working with students to ensure its success, and the college is very thankful for her efforts. A resident of Bellevue, Frayer has been employed at Olivet for 11 years. For more information about the Phon-a-thon, or to make a gift to the Olivet College Annual Fund, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at (269) 749-7630 or advancement@olivetcollege.edu. « Back
