Three Olivet College students awarded IASA scholarships

Three Olivet College students were recently awarded scholarships through the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association, Incorporated (IASA). Courtlyn Clark, a sophomore from Dimondale, Leah Lupu, a junior from Ovid, and Marki Wilber, a sophomore from Olivet, were recognized among 18 students nationally for the prestigious scholarships.

Established in 2010, the IASA Scholarship Program demonstrates the association’s commitment to aiding undergraduate college students currently enrolled in a university with an insurance program, or in pursuit of a career in insurance, and whose course of study includes working toward a degree in information technology, actuarial science, accounting or risk management.

Following a thorough evaluation process, IASA’s Scholarship Committee selected 18 talented young individuals to receive the association’s 2014 scholarships. All of the scholarship recipients have proven dedicated not only to academic excellence, but to the betterment of themselves, their campuses and their communities through service and leadership.

“Investing in the insurance professionals of tomorrow is an important part of our core mission and strategic objectives,” said Joe Pomilia, executive director of IASA. “By helping students financially, we enable them to better achieve their goals, and strengthen the insurance industry in the process. It’s a win-win situation.”

This year’s recipients were recognized during the IASA Annual Educational Conference & Business Show, June 8-11, in Indianapolis, Ind. For more information about the IASA Scholarship Program, visit the IASA website at www.iasa.org and click on “Scholarship Program” in the main menu.
