We are pleased you've decided to attend Olivet College this fall! On this page you will find all of the information you need to prepare for orientation. But, you have to choose a date first! The first step to becoming an official Comet is to choose one of the orientation dates below and register for orientation:

4. Complete the 2016 - 2017 FAFSA via the FAFSA website, and list Olivet as your first college choice.
5. Make sure you are ready for orientation by going through our orientation checklist.

What can you do while your student is at orientation?
While your student is enjoying orientation there are a few things you can do to keep busy during the day. We have provided a list below, including places to visit and lunch options during orientation day.
Get Your Questions Answered
Join us for coffee if you have questions you'd like to ask. We will be hosting a panel Q & A starting at 10 a.m. in room 110 of the Mott Academic Center. Have your questions answered by a faculty member and representatives from Olivet College.
Financial Aid Help
Now is the time to double check that your student has completed all of the items on this financial aid checklist to ensure they receive their award money. If you would like to make an appointment to receive help filing financial aid, there will be a table available at orientation where you can sign up.

What happens at orientation?
Your orientation day will be filled with exciting new experiences. View the orientation schedule to get an idea of what's in store!
At orientation, you'll get to:
- Meet your professors
- Make new friends
- Adjust your schedule
- See where you'll be living
- Explore campus
- Get your questions answered
You will be registered in advance for your fall semester courses, but you will get the chance to adjust your schedule if needed. We’ll also happily answer any questions you have regarding financial aid, housing and dining services, and other aspects of college life here at Olivet.

What should I expect at orientation?
At orientation, learn more about Olivet College and connect with other incoming students through fun activities, meet with a professor within your academic area of interest, adjust your class schedule if necessary, get your photo snapped for your official college ID, get to know a few of your classmates and spend a day feeling like an official Olivet College student.
What is the orientation schedule?
Mott Academic Center doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the official orientation program begins at 9 a.m. From there, we keep you hopping until 3:30 p.m. For an inside look at what's to come, take a peek at the orientation schedule.
Where do we park for orientation?
The day of orientation, you are welcome to park in any of our lots or on the street. Click here for a map of campus, including available parking.
Where do we check-in for orientation?
Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. and is located in the Mott Academic Center main lobby.
Will I schedule my courses?
We have set aside time for you to meet one-on-one with a faculty member to finalize your course schedule during orientation if needed. You can sign-up for your appointment at the check-in table. If you’d like to talk with a faculty member in advance, please contact your academic enrollment specialist to set up an appointment.
Will I see my room?
During orientation, we will have a number of other camps and conferences in session. We will do our best to let you see your room. If that’s not possible, we will have “show rooms” available in each residence hall for you to see.
What if I have questions about financial aid?
We happen to think we have the best financial aid team in the business. Don’t take our word for it – find out for yourself! Our financial aid team is available for one-on-one meetings throughout orientation. Sign up for your individual appointment time at the check-in desk or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
Will I receive a list of things I should and should not bring to Move-In Day?

Can I meet with my coach?
We suggest communicating directly with your coach to set up a meeting at orientation. There will be a time in the afternoon to meet with him or her.
Will I get to meet with professors?
We always have a number of professors and staff on hand during orientation to meet with you both one-on-one and in groups. If you are looking to connect with someone in particular, please reach out to your academic enrollment specialist and we will make that happen.
Will I get my Student ID?
Yes, you’ll get your Student ID at orientation and will be able to immediately begin using it to qualify for special student rates wherever those are offered.
Will I receive my parking pass?
First year students are allowed to have cars on campus. If you haven’t received your parking pass prior to orientation, you can visit the Campus Safety desk located in the Mott Academic Center to secure it there or you may prefer to wait until you arrive on campus in the fall.
