Kylie Horrocks has been named academic enrollment specialist at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Lisa Lehman, director of admissions. Horrocks is directly involved with driving recruitment initiatives geared toward increasing overall enrollment goals at the college.
“We are happy to have Kylie join our admissions team,” Lehman said. “She will be a vital asset in helping prospective students get to know Olivet College.”
Horrocks, of Ionia, is a 2013 graduate of Michigan State University (MSU), where she double majored in human biology and psychology. While attending MSU, she worked as a research assistant in the Psychology Department and a Welcome Team member in the Office of Admissions. She was a member of MSU’s Dean’s List and graduated with honors. While working in admissions, Horrocks realized her passion for college access and assisting students in navigating their pursuits of a college degree.
Following her inspiration, she served two years with MSU’s College Advising Corps as a college advisor at Ionia High School. In this role, she mentored students and parents one-on-one, organized college-related events, assisted with financial aid, and implemented a student group focused on increasing college awareness.
