Hall of Fame Announces 2017
Scholarship Recipients

Providing students with scholarship money is one of the lesser known benefits of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame programs. Each year, students entering or attending Olivet in the Insurance and Risk Management or Actuarial Science programs are awarded scholarships from the funds raised by the Hall of Fame. In 2018, the following students were awarded scholarships:

Alexandria Collins, Olivet
Emily Epps, Lansing Mason Evans, Battle Creek
Elizabeth Fisher, Charlotte
Alexis Hanchett, Battle Creek
Megan Hollern, Mulliken
Jack Holman, Charlotte
Breanna McCone, Homer
Owen Miller, Marshall
Skyler Sutton, Charlotte
Zoie Walters, Battle Creek

The purpose of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals for excellence in leadership, service, and contributions to improve the ability of the Michigan insurance industry to serve the public in the state of Michigan, and furthermore to support education, research, and technology that advances the understanding and public awareness and recognition of the economic role of the insurance and risk management business.

In its effort to support education that advances the understanding and public awareness and recognition of the economic role of the insurance and risk management business, the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame awards scholarships to students studying insurance and risk management. The scholarship funds are donated by current members and friends of the Hall of Fame. As each induction ceremony nears, the Hall solicits donations in the name of the current inductees. The majority of the scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who will be entering college in the fall and majoring in insurance and risk management.

High school seniors who will be majoring in insurance and risk management and who are interested in this scholarship, please contact Tom Humphreys, Director of The Risk Management and Insurance Center at Olivet College – thumphreys@olivetcollege.edu
