Jasmine Stahl serves as an admission representative at Olivet College. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and minored in event management and music. Jasmine also earned a master’s degree in communication and served as a a graduate teaching assistant.
Jasmine brings a unique perspective to admissions because of her personal experience with first-year students. “I know that college is a big transition from my six years as a student and interacting with first-year students as an instructor,” Jasmine said. “The key to finding success during your time in school is getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. College is where you learn independence, find your passion and discover new things about yourself.”
Jasmine values the combination of educational experiences and social aspects that college provides students. “It’s important to not only learn the knowledge to launch the career you desire after graduation, but to also learn applicable skills,” she said. Time management, communication and prioritizing were all beneficial skills Jasmine learned that helped her get to where she is today.
“If there is anything I can encourage a prospective student to do as they begin their college journey, it’s to be open to anything. I changed my major three times. I never thought I would take the path I took to be where I am,” Jasmine explained. “No one’s path is linear, and no one knows all the answers. It’s okay to be wrong, it’s okay to ask questions and it’s okay to ask for help.”
Jasmine is excited to work with students from Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe, Wayne and Washtenaw counties. She looks forward to helping students explore all the opportunities Olivet College has to offer.
