Distinguished Alumni & Hall of Fame Awards

Olivet College takes great pride in the success of our alumni. As such, we honor a number of outstanding alumni as part of our Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame event held during Homecoming Weekend every year.

The selections are made from candidates who have distinguished themselves through their professional and/or athletic accomplishments and who possess the highest standards of character, which exemplify our academic vision of Education for Individual and Social Responsibility and its mission: the divine art and science of doing good to others.

Alumni Awards

Distinguished Alumni Award

Established in 1958, it is the highest honor presented to alumni. The award recognizes an individual(s) who has earned their undergraduate degree from Olivet College and exemplifies the College’s vision, mission, and values and making exceptional or noteworthy contributions to their given profession and community.

Young Alumni Award

Established in 2003, the Young Alumni Award recognizes an Olivet College graduate(s) within 10 years of the individual’s commencement year who exemplifies the College’s vision, mission, and values and makes significant, positive contributions to their given profession and community.

1844 Award

Established in 1977, the 1844 Award is named for the year of Olivet’s founding. An individual(s) is recognized for demonstrating their commitment and dedication to the advancement of the College through service to the College, other community services, professional recognition, or contributions to society that typify and personify the mission of the College. The nominee need not be a graduate of Olivet College but must have direct or indirect ties to the College.

Nominate a Deserving Alumnus

No nominee will be considered unless the entire form is complete. The nominator is responsible for detailed information provided by the nominee’s family, friends, Facebook, Internet search, or other sources. The nominator is encouraged to coordinate with the nominee to review responses and ensure agreement prior to nomination submission. All candidates will be vetted prior to consideration to ensure alignment with the core values of Olivet College.

The nomination must be received by July 1 to be considered for the awards that will be presented at that year’s fall Homecoming Weekend.
