Stan Keach ’67 won the Maine Songwriters Association “Song of the Year” Award in the MSA Annual Songwriting Contest. The song, “On Boot Hill,” was written by Stan and Rick Lang. It has been recorded by Ralph Stanley II and the Clinch Mountain Boys. stanleykeach@hotmail.com




Tom Claus ’79 has been inducted into the Michigan Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Tom served as a member of the Michigan Wrestling Association for 31 years and earned three conference titles, seven county championships, 11 state district championships, three state regional championships, two times in the top eight, and finished two times in the final four and one time a third place finish at the state level. Tom taught and coached at Bellevue, Pennfield, and Montrose high schools before teaching and coaching at Jonesville Community Schools for 20 years. In 2008 he retired as principal of Michigan Center High School. Tom and wife, Kimberlee, reside in Jonesville and have three children and four grandchildren. tclaus57@yahoo.com


Christina Chateauvert ’99 earned a doctorate in Learning Design and Technology from Wayne State University in fall 2017. She will continue to work at Ford Motor Company as a user experience strategist and teach as an adjunct instructor at Wayne State. Nayal Maktari ’99 is an elementary school principal in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. He is proud to say that his passion for the field of education began at Olivet. Nayal has been recognized as WXYZ’s Person of the Week, the Reading Recovery Council of Michigan Award recipient, a National Elementary and Secondary School Principal’s 2017 Conference presenter, a co-author of an article in Principal (national education publication), and co-chairman of Walled Lake Schools Diversity Committee.
