I started at Olivet College in 2013 as an accounting major. After one semester, I changed my concentration to marketing. During my time at Olivet, I was a member of the volleyball team, the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Black Student Union, a fellow of the President’s Leadership Institute and, most proudly, a member of the Nu Gamma XI sorority.
After graduating from Olivet in 2017, I moved to Chicago to work for the relocation management company, RELO Direct. There, I was able to drive impact within corporate and governmental relocations. While in Chicago, I also joined the Nike Chicago team and was able to live out my love of sport while serving the Chicagoland area with multiple community events. For the past year, I have been working at Google as an account strategist, focusing in advertising and navigating the Canadian Market.
As an alumna, I want today’s students to understand that your journey through life or whatever you do will look differently than your friends and others around you. Respect your time, make meaningful connections and everything else will fall into place. Don’t rush your process!
Olivet gave me some of my lifelong best friends, and if I was to do it again, little 18-year-old me would pick Olivet without a second thought!
