Olivet College has announced the appointment of James Rose Jr. to its Board of Trustees. Rose will join the College’s leadership team with a commitment to providing a successful educational experience for all students.

“I am very pleased to have James Rose Jr. join the Board of Trustees,” said President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. “James has been a dedicated leader in the state of Michigan, which will be a great benefit to us, and I thank him for contributing his time and talent to the advancement of Olivet College. We are fortunate to have dedicated alumni and friends who are strongly committed to the institution and its mission.”

Rose serves as the global managing director of client services for all Deloitte member service firms to the Ford Motor Company. He is responsible for delivering the firm’s multidisciplinary solutions, including business, innovation and IT consulting, privacy and enterprise risk management, tax and financial advisory services to Ford worldwide. With more than 20 years of experience, Rose’s career has been accentuated by leading edge projects to assist automotive manufacturing companies with innovation, technology and business performance improvement. He specializes in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain optimization, automotive aftermarket, marketing, information technology and new product development.

Outside of his professional role, Rose is a member of several leadership boards, including the Akron Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees and Beaumont Hospital — Troy Medial Center Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the Detroit Athletic Club and a United Way of Michigan adviser.

Rose is a multi-disciplinary individual who holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. He completed post-graduate studies at the Julliard School of Music and is also a graduate of the IBM Executive Education Program with a concentration in marketing from Warwick University in England. Recently, Rose was named the Deloitte Innovator of the Year.
