Dear Students,

It’s a beautiful day on the Olivet College campus! It’s exciting to see students in class, walking campus and joining in the many student engagement activities being planned. As we spend more time indoors, remember the importance of practicing physical distancing and wearing your mask. Six feet distancing, masking up and keeping your social bubble small continue to be the best defense to keep the coronavirus at bay.

This week’s OC CARES communication includes the following good news:

  1. Dining Update: KC to Open Monday With Limited Seating
  2. Starbucks Cafe Meal Exchange
  3. Telehealth: OC Partners with Sparrow Health
  4. BeWell@OlivetCollege
  5. Skating Rink Grand Opening
KC Open with Limited Seating Beginning Monday, Feb. 1

Chartwells and Olivet College are excited to announce that the KC will be open for limited in-person dining, beginning Monday! To ensure the health and safety of the entire Olivet College community and to meet Michigan Department of Health and Human Service guidelines during the pandemic, the following protocols must be followed by all who choose to dine in:

  1. Capacity is limited to 25%. The Oaks Room will be open for dining.
  2. Do not move tables or chairs, pull tables together or add chairs to tables.
  3. Wear your mask at all times, with the exception of when you are seated and eating or drinking. If you leave your table at any time, for any reason, you must wear your mask, covering your mouth and nose.
  4. Continue to keep your social “bubble” small. Consider sharing your table only with your roommate(s).
  5. Be respectful of the time you spend at a table. With limited tables and chairs, and the cold weather upon us, respect that others want to have the opportunity to eat at the KC. Do not linger after your meal. Be kind and give up your table.
  6. Wash or sanitize your hands prior to eating, as well as after leaving the KC.
  7. Take away meals will still be provided.
Starbucks Cafe Meal Exchange

Click here to view your breakfast and lunch Meal Exchange options now available at the Starbucks Cafe. If you are unable to grab a meal from the KC during regular breakfast or lunch hours, you can now grab a complete packed meal at the Starbucks Cafe.

Your student ID will be swiped and your packaged breakfast or lunch will be deducted from your weekly meal allowance, just as if you were at the KC.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask any member of the Chartwells staff.

Be One of the First to Skate on the OC Ice Skating Rink!

Don’t miss the fun ― and certainly some laughs ― at the grand opening of the OC Ice Skating Rink on Saturday, Jan. 30, 6 to 9 p.m.! Free skates for use. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, compliments of Chartwells. The rink is located on the Marching Comets practice field, across from Long Apartments. Please practice physical distancing and wear a mask when in the presence of others, dress for the weather, abide by the posted rules, be safe and respectful of others on the ice, and, most of all, HAVE FUN!

“A man learns to skate by staggering about and making a fool of himself. Indeed he progresses in all things by resolutely making a fool of himself.”George Bernard Shaw
