Olivet’s Certified Public Accountant Track is designed for individuals who have a desire to develop professional competencies and technical knowledge in accounting and are seeking a career in public accounting. Through this program, students will cover accounting discipline course work and business specialty topics while they complete the total semester hours necessary to meet the educational requirement for CPA testing, as outlined by the State of Michigan.
Financial accountants are responsible for preparing the financial statements of an organization as well as performing any related accounting activities. They can either work for accounting firms or in the financial departments of any other types of organizations.
Auditors are responsible for evaluating compliance with financial standards and reporting regulations within an organization.
A CFO directs annual and long-term financial goals and budgets for an organization. They ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance of financial reporting and develop systems to maintain the corporation's long-term financial well-being.
