The biology major at Olivet College is designed to introduce you to the major aspects of modern biology and its applications. You’ll participate in hands-on experiences both in the laboratory and in the field, and have the opportunity to work one-one-one with faculty on research and independent study projects.
Located two miles from campus on Pine Lake, Kirkelldel Biological Preserve has five habitat types and broad biological diversity, serving as an outdoor classroom for a range of science classes and research projects. This biological research station also contains a large collection of natural history specimens, including many fossils, rocks and minerals, mollusk shells, mammals, birds, and numerous live animals and insects.
As a biology major, you will choose a concentration that aligns with your career interests.
