About the Program

Olivet’s computer science program stresses both theory and practice. A series of required courses stress the fundamentals, whereas elective courses provide the opportunity to explore advanced topics. You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of software and hardware concepts.

Careers in Computer Science

  • System Analyst

    Systems analysts work to optimize user experience with programs. These professionals advise employers and clients on which software they may need, implement the software and liaise with users to ensure the programs function properly.

  • Network Administrator

    Network administrators design, manage and maintain technological networks. They work within organizations and government agencies to oversee local area networks, wide area networks, network segments and other data communication systems as needed.

  • Mobile Application Developer

    A mobile app developer creates, maintains and implements the source code to develop mobile apps and mobile platform programs that meet the needs and requirements of the clients using the computer programming languages.

  • Application Engineer

    Application Engineers are responsible for designing, developing and implementing programs and applications. They understand customer analysis reports to create applications that respond to customer needs and provide innovative solutions to common problems.
