Olivet College’s graphic design major is geared toward applying your fine art skills to graphic design and production. Combining traditional studio skills with Mac computers and the current industry standard software Adobe Creative Suite, you will be groomed in letter and type design, layout and art preparation, and computer generated solutions to graphic design challenges.
Graphic designers create visual concepts, either using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines and reports.
Creative directors plan the layout and visuals for print and digital publications, products and advertising. They also create and maintain a vision for a company's products and branding.
As a multimedia artist or animator, you'll create animation and visual effects for television, movies, video games and other media.
As a film/video editor, you'll manage material such as camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects to produce a final film or video product.
