Marilyn F. Lawrence, DNP(C), MSN, BSN, serves as director of the RN-BSN Program at Olivet College. Lawrence provided leadership and oversite of the program, teaches online classes, and builds strategic community partnerships to ensure the continuous success of the program and graduates. Previously, she served as an adjunct instructor in nursing for the past three years.
“My passion is mentoring and facilitating student success, which is supported by collaboration with community leaders, building partnerships, and developing critical thinking skills to help students identify clinical interest areas through service-learning. As a nursing instructor, I am honored to help educate the next generation of nurses, who see the whole person in the community,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence has worked in classroom and clinical instruction at several colleges and universities since 2009. Some of Lawrence’s teaching interests include community health nursing, nursing trends and issues, youth development, faith-based health care and more. She is a licensed Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on community/population health and a certificate in nursing education. Lawrence is also currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on strategic leadership.
