Dennis P. Paquette serves as the assistant wrestling coach and adjunct self and community professor. Coach Paquette is a retired high school and middle school physical education and health teacher, coach and school administrator. He coached high school wrestling for 33 years and spent time coaching high school football, track and cross country.
Coach Paquette earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Northern Michigan University and received his master’s degree in sports management from Western Michigan University.
In addition to being a coach and teacher, Coach Paquette is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). He also holds copper, bronze and silver coaching certifications through USA Wrestling and was the Coaches Education Director for USA Wrestling/Michigan. Coach Paquette has been an MHSAA certified official for 25 years and has also spent time volunteering and raising funds for the Michigan Special Olympics. Coach Paquette is a member of the Michigan Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Coach Paquette’s wife, Debbie, and son, Brian, are both Olivet College alumni. Coach Paquette loves the Olivet College atmosphere and the relationships he’s building with students and staff.
