Professor Erin Pavloski earned her bachelor’s degree from Olivet College in 2013, graduating in the top five of her class with a double major in environmental science and biology. She earned her master’s degree in fisheries and wildlife and graduate certificate in community engagement from Michigan State University in 2016. Her thesis work focused on human dimensions of fisheries and wildlife, investigating risk perceptions of fish disease held by aquatic recreationists and framing of aquatic invasive species outreach messages.

Professor Pavloski’s past positions include working for The Nature Conservancy collecting data in riparian areas throughout the Hiawatha National Forest in the Upper Peninsula, and for the Ingham Conservation District as regional invasive species coordinator of the Mid-Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area. She greatly values natural resource education, outreach and collaboration, and she looks forward to helping students develop skills in the classroom and gain in-field experiences that will benefit them in their future careers.

Professor Pavloski currently teaches courses that satisfy the College’s science experience requirement in its liberal arts curriculum, including environmental science. Embracing the College’s tenet to Be More and Do Good, Professor Pavloski hopes to inspire each student in her classes to think globally and act locally.
