Ikaika Binkowski serves as an admissions representative at Olivet College. He places a strong value on higher education, noting it has the power to help any person from any background unlock a brighter future.
“The college experience is vital in the growth and success of individuals no matter how young or old,” Ikaika said. “College shapes the minds of those attending, instilling a sense of togetherness and pride, in addition to helping students grow into well-rounded individuals. I am passionate about working in the Olivet College Office of Admissions because I want to help people in all aspects of life, whether it be the group I am involved with, parents who are seeing their daughters and sons into a new chapter, or students just beginning the journey into the unknown.”
Prior to joining the Olivet College admissions team, Ikaika gained experience working as an admissions programming assistant at his alma mater. He regularly met with prospective students and families to give tours and presentations. Furthermore, Ikaika also assisted in the planning and development of recruitment events and the collection of admissions-related data. Through this role, Ikaika developed a deep passion for knowledge and a drive to instill that passion onto others.
Ikaika closely resonates with Olivet College’s mission to provide an education to all regardless of race, gender or financial means. He serves students in the Michigan counties of Allegan, Berrien, Cass, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, St. Joseph and Van Buren, and the Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will. Ikaika is always excited to help a student unlock their potential through a college degree.
