Kwamise Taylor is the gospel choir director. As the gospel choir director, Professor Taylor is responsible for leading the gospel choir into a successful year and helping with recruitment events and activities.
Professor Taylor is an experienced professional in the world of music. She currently serves as a choral director for New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit and has been in this position for 21 years. In past years she has held the title of a piano instructor for Expressions Music Academy in Novi, choral director for North Farmington High School, assistant director of music for Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, assistant conductor for Oakland University Chorus, and founder and artistic director for Detroit Metropolitan Youth Ensembles.
Professor Taylor received her Bachelor of Music from Wayne State University and her Master of Music from Oakland University. She is projected to complete her Doctor of Philosophy from Oakland University in 2023.
She joined the Olivet College family in 2022 and has found Olivet to be a warm and inviting place. She has also enjoyed how friendly and supportive everyone has been.
