Professor Tom Humphreys teaches business, insurance, risk management and financial planning courses at Olivet College. He has more than 25 years of business and insurance industry experience with both independent and captive agencies. Professor Humphreys has instructed property and casualty and life, accident and health insurance licensing courses, as well as continuing education courses for Kaplan University across the country for 10 years. His passion for education has been exemplified in serving as president on both a local board of education as well as an intermediate school district board for a combined 25 years.
Professor Humphreys’ education includes an undergraduate degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Kaplan University. He has earned professional designations from the American College, The National Alliance and the Insurance Institute of America. He holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations. In addition, Professor Humphreys maintains an active insurance producer license in property & casualty, life, accident & health, as well as a counselor license in the same disciplines.
